I’ve just noticed you were a Jones! Perhaps we are related! So was my Mum! Then again, I’m sure there are a lot of Joneses in Wales!
The Jones is from N. Wales where my dad’s dad (he’d died before I was born) came from.
Mum’s dad was from Aberdare…is that in the south?
Aberdare is in South Wales just a valley West of the Rhondda where I was brought up.
My Grandad’s family moved to South Wales to work in the coal mines, they’d previously worked in the slate mines. My best friend came from Aberdare.
