those tears stored in a bottle will be wiped away one day,
Rachel Elin fell asleep at 19.50 hrs
We sung this hymn through the tears at Rachel’s funeral. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15 v 19
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.

Our greatest comfort in life or death is in the Lord Jesus Christ, who rules over life and is victorious over death!
Fifteen years ago…
Thank you for marking the anniversary here.
All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.
I didn’t know about your daughter, Ann. I, too, know the stillness of soul that is ours through the Lord Jesus, even through the vale of tears and the death of a precious child.
During these days of remembrance, may you better know ‘His love, His heart, Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.’
Thanks for sharing the hard times,
“Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart”
Thinking of you.
I recently read this in a blog… someone who lost a child also.
“In the summertime when the grass in the lower valleys withers and dries up, the shepherds seek to lead their sheep up a winding, throny, and stony pathway to the high grazing lands. The sheep, reluctant to take the difficult pathway infested with dangers and hardships, turn back and will not follow. The shepherds make repeated attempts, but the timid sheep will not follow. Finally, a shepherd reaches into the flock and takes a little lamb and places it under his arm…Then he stars up the precipitous pathway. Soon the mother sheep start to follow and afterward the entire flock. At last they ascend the torturous trail to green pastures.”
Thank you all for your kind comments and quotes.
