It’s been a great joy recently at Witton to welcome new members into the church. Some are young believers others older in the faith who want to be committed to the fellowship . We’ve all been given a guide to church membership – it’s not on the Church web-site yet.
The section that struck me was about the church members taking the burden off the Church Officers ( Elder and Deacon currently) so that they can devote themselves to the study of God’s word and prayer. These men have to give an account before the Lord, how they need our prayers.
Are we being useful and faithful in the Lord’s work? Are we willing to do the menial, unnoticed things? We shouldn’t want “to be seen of men,” we should serve the Lord with our whole being – mind, heart , will, strength.
