I thought I’d do a final post for November on thankfulness. There are so many things everyone of us should be thankful for. I’d like to thank Rebecca, at Rebecca Writes and Kim, at Hiraeth for all their hard work in gathering the Thankful Posts. Focusing on being thankful has been a wonderful spiritual exercise, I for one so often forget to give thanks.
I’m going to write a short testimony about something that happened to me when I first left home to start Nurse Training. I trained as a nurse in Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, it’s only about 20 miles from my parents home but I decided it would be wise to stay at the Nurses’ accomodation on the outskirts of Cardiff for the first weekend to avoid home- sickness. On the Friday evening I went for an evening meal to the hospital dining room with a few of the other student nurses. I took my meal to the table with the others, sat down and bowed my head to thank God for my meal as I always do.
On the walk back to the accomodation one of the other students came up to me and asked if I was a christian , there began a solid friendship and fellowship in the Lord that has lasted even though we now live many miles apart. I often wonder if I’d not given thanks would we ever have known such a bond in Christ. I give thanks to the Lord for believing friends of all ages.
Give thanks unto the Lord for His mercy endures forever, a quote that is in so many Bible passages.

God honored your faithfulness in giving thanks to Him by gifting you with a friend! The gift of a Christian friend is a grace and a joy like none other.
This is one of my favorite thanksgiving posts of the whole month. What a wonderful way to close this month of thanksgiving!
