I thought today I’d post some scripture verses which talk about thanks or thankfulness. I have appreciated Rebecca encouraging bloggers to write about giving thanks.
1Chronicles 16:34 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 119:62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your righteous judgments.
1Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Corinthians 8:16 But thanks be to God who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.
2Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Ephesians 5:20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
2Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
1Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,
Daniel 2:23 “I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
1Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus,
2Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,
On reading the verses I’ve been struck by how often the writer gives thanks for an attribute of God or a spiritual fruit in a believer. I need to remember this in my daily life.
i copied thes to use as journal prompts during November. Thank You
I want to thank you for posting this. I’m going to use it in my class for women in rehab tonight. Despite their history, I want to show them they have much to be thankful for!

I printed these verses on card stock and will tie them individually around cloth napkins with satin ribbons and silk autumn leaves. Each guest can read the verse out loud before we enjoy our Thanksgiving feast. Just and idea…
With the rush of preparing food this a.m., I was afraid I wouldn’t have time to look up many scriptures on being thankful. I saw your website and there they were! Thanks for taking time to put these together. Our family will read them before we eat our Thanksgiving meal tonight.
Its so ironic how familiar reading everyone of these scriptures was for me. Yet, living day to day life how often i bypass the importance in the thanksgiving to GOD. Although, i do give thanks to him in times in the rough. It is always important to have direct scriptures to assemble us. THANK YOU! destiny

Thank you much…. I have put these on my card for my mother on mother’s day! To show her how much I am thankful and joyful!

It is good to know that we can focus on thanking God instead of complaining.
Thank You

I am going to use this as part of my Thanks Giving lesson tonight for our rebuilders children’s group! Thank you for posting this I will give much encouragement:)
Being truly thankful from the heart is often for me a deep inner knowing and experiencing something traumatic, dramatic, a crisis, a loss, a blessing, and always through spiritual, emotional, and physical ways that usually involves pain or maybe even a persecution of some kind. I find my thankfulness most generally through in not what I do have, but, for what I don`t have. Circumstances and choices lead me to fear Jesus more, and grateful He continually chastises me, even in my self desires.
thank you for the uplifting of so much.
