We often hear people say “we live in a free country”. As a christian in the UK I am free to do things that in other parts of the world are forbidden. Some of the things I am thankful for being able to do,
Read my Bible.
Pray.
Go to Church.
Listen to preaching.
Tell others about the Lord Jesus Christ personally.
Read sound Christian books.
Distribute Christian literature.
Post christian information on the internet.
I may get laughed at or poked fun at but I don’t get persecuted, imprisoned or killed for being a christian.
Lord help me to be truly thankful for the freedoms I often take for granted . Pray for those believers who do not have such freedom, help us to be faithful to our Lord where He has placed us.
Open Doors is a useful resource re the persecuted church, it has Worldwatch List compiled from a questionnaire about religious freedom worldwide , it collates the information into a table of the top fifty worst offending countries with regard to persecution of christians.
